Matteo Moschetti is Q36.5 Pro Cycling's sprint leader in the Swiss team's first Giro d'Italia participation, but they didn't wait for first sprint stage to bring first good news to the table. The 28-year-old Italian renews with team lead by Doug Ryder for two more seasons.
"I am really happy I signed this new contract," said Matteo Moschetti in a press release. Once there was a clear interest from the team to continue with the Italian, there wasn't much more to think about for Moschetti. "In the last weeks we talked about it and it’s always a decision you have to think about well."
"To be honest I didn’t have many doubts after this start of the season. This team is a good environment for me. They have trusted me since the beginning. After my crash last year, they were there for me and gave me all the time to come back. There was no stress. They were there in the bad times and they are here in the good times."
Moschetti had a great start to 2025, winning stages at AlUla Tour and the Tour of Hellas. He was also successful in Belgium when he triumphed at GP Criquielion and arrived runner-up at the Nokere Koerse and third at the Scheldeprijs against some of the world's best sprinter.
"The next two years are important years of my career. I am 28 now and a cycling career is not forever," Moschetti said. "I want to keep getting better, grow and win races. With the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team I have a good project and good guys around me to achieve my goals."
Currently participating at the Giro d'Italia, Moschetti of course dreams about winning on home roads. "A stage win in the Giro would be great, but I don’t have to wait until the next two years. The fact we are in the Giro d’Italia shows how the team has grown. Everyone can see that. Our team has a good place in cycling, and I am super motivated to show our team colours in Italia."
