"Rules are rules, nobody can beat them, not even SD Worx" - Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio criticizes SD Worx for being "arrogant"

Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio has few words of praise for SD Worx, the team she was a part of during 2021 and 2022. The 37-year old South African now races for AG Insurance-Soudal Quick-Step and lashes out at her old employer in the podcast Radio Cycling.

"I have to be honest, because I have seen the team inside and out. There is quite a bit of arrogance in the team, inside and out. If you're that arrogant, no one will grant you anything and you have to work for everything."

With this, Moolman-Pasio refers, among other things, to the punishment that SD Worx received in the Tour de France Femmes for drafting leader Demi Vollering, behind the car of sporting director Danny Stam. The latter was put off course, Vollering received a twenty-second time penalty.

"Rules are rules, nobody can beat them, not even SD Worx. Time penalties are never fun, but if someone deserves them, it has to be done."
