The 78th edition of the Vuelta a Espana starts on Saturday the 26th of August. Throughout the past few days, teams have been announcing their lineups, the latest of these are Intermarché-Circus-Wanty.
The Belgian-based outfit will call upon the experienced, former world champion Rui Costa who will hope for more success than he got at the Tour de France where the Portuguese never really came close to securing himself a stage win. Belgian sprinter Gerben Thijssen will be the team's hope for the flat stages and with three wins in the bag this year, could be a dark horse.
Rune Herregodts and Hugo Page will be making a Grand Tour debut, whilst at the other end of the spectrum 35-year-old Boy van Poppel will take on the ninth three-week stage race of his career with 36-year-old Rein Taaramäe racing his 19th. Completing the lineup are Kobe Goossens and Julius Johansen.
