This year's Tour of Flanders was one that will definitely live long in the memory. Both Tadej Pogacar and Lotte Kopecky rode to stunning solo wins and as it turns out record-breaking viewing figures were glued to their tv sets watching the drama unfold.
A peak Belgian audience of 1.6 million saw Tadej Pogacar defy the likes of Mathieu van der Poel, Mads Pedersen and Wout van Aert to claim a thrilling victory. Meanwhile, as Lotte Kopecky dominated the competition to successfully defend her Tour of Flanders WE crown, viewing records were also broken as over a million Belgian viewers tuned in.
Alongside the numerous viewing audience on tv was a vast crowd at the roadside in Flanders. It is no secret that they love their cycling in that part of the world but the fact there were supporters as far as the eye can see in and amongst the mud of the Oude Kwaremont was a sight to behold.
