Perhaps the most important run-up race to the Giro d'Italia is the Tour of the Alps. In the past called Giro del Trentino, the five-day stage-race presents the peloton with a wide variety of mountainous stages in the Alps before the get into the mountains once again in the coming month.
With the Tour of the Alps already on the road, you may be wondering how much the teams will receive financially from their results directly, and at the Italian/Austrian stage-race this year there is a total of €68.175 euros available, to be distributed between stage winners, jersey wearers and according to the results in the final overall classification.
