The recent winner of the Maglia Rosa at the 2023 Giro d'Italia, Primoz Roglic has now opened up and given more of an insight into his plans for the rest of the racing year.
“Most likely I will do the Vuelta a Espana, that will be my next race. The Tour is really not scheduled, just like the national championships," the Slovenian revealed at a press conference in Ljubljana on Monday, where he was being honoured by his compatriots for his epic Giro d'Italia win.
Roglic also revealed he is unlikely to be at the World Championships in Glasgow. "That does not fit in the planning for the Vuelta," explained the Jumbo-Visma leader. "That's how we agreed with the team, we can't start games without preparation. I can't really enjoy a race without proper preparation."
"There are still some nice obligations and receptions, which I try to enjoy as much as possible. That way I can also give something back to the people," he concludes, paying tribute to the Slovenian fans that gave him such brilliant support on the decisive Monte Lussari time-trial.
