Pierre Rolland comes out of retirement to rejoin peloton - " Put everything on hold to become a professional cyclist again"

April Fools day has not evaded the peloton. Pierre Rolland, one of the most popular riders in peloton who has recently hung up his wheels, has played with the heart of many cycling fans!

The French climber had a lacklustre season last year, with no victories to his credit. To make matters worse, his team collapsed just before the start of the new season, which meant he had to find a new team in a limited amount of time, a task that was complicated by his age. Given the difficulties he faced, he concluded that retirement was the most practical decision.

After spending the first three months of the new season in retirement, Rolland has chosen to rejoin his comrades in the peloton. He is set to make his season debut at the Région Pays de la Loire Tour, scheduled for the 7th of April.

Rolland has refrained from disclosing his new team, intending to reveal it on Friday, building up suspense until then. “After 3 months of reflection, despite many projects, I decided to put everything on hold to become a professional cyclist again. Resumption planned in #RégionTour Pays de la Loire. I'll let you know my new team during the day,” he wrote on his social media.
