Pauline Ferrand-Prévot's half-sister signs with SD Worx-Protime after first year as a professional - "I am now taking a gamble"

Axelle Dubau-Prévot, the half-sister of Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, is on her way to SD Worx-Protime in 2027 after signing a two-year deal. The transfer sees her leave EF Education-Oatly after a breakthrough first season as a professional.
A late bloomer, the 30-year-old has enjoyed a successful first season as a full-time pro in 2026. Among her impressive results, she finished 10th in Liège-Bastogne-Liège - a performance she claims put her on the radar of multiple teams.
Although Dubau-Prévot has been cycling for some time, her career hasn't been dedicated to the road as she competed in various disciplines such as cyclo-cross, mountain biking and gravel racing.
“We are convinced that Axelle still has a lot of room for improvement,” team manager Danny Stam said.
Dubau-Prévot impressed SD Worx staff
“Axelle makes a strong impression, especially on hilly terrain. Precisely because we want to strengthen our selection for the Ardennes Classics, she fits in perfectly with us.
"Because she had to ride many races in service of the team last season, we haven’t seen the best of her yet. There is certainly still room for improvement when it comes to climbing.”
Speaking after the transfer was confirmed, Dubau-Prévot has decided to go all-in on the road as she joins one of the Women's WorldTour top teams in her thirties.

“I only became a full-time pro this year. Before that, I combined cycling with my job as a nutritionist. I knew I had talent, but I thought: what if I went all in now? That was a turning point," Dubau-Prévot said.
“After Liège-Bastogne-Liège, I was approached by several teams. I am now taking a gamble with SD Worx-Protime. I have been following this team for years. It is a dream to be part of it now.
"It feels almost unreal. Ten years ago, my career was more or less over, and now, in my thirties, I am suddenly riding for one of the best cycling teams in the world. I am now focusing entirely on road cycling; that was an easy choice.”

- I think it looks far faster than it actually was, judging by the bike behind he may have been close to 100km/h but it was a dead straight wide stretch. I’ve seen whole convoys of cars passing at such speeds near downhills when the peloton is at full speed and they still have problems not being in riders’ ways. The speed of the caravan at the Tour sometimes when it passes just inches from spectators is far scarier. For me there are just too many vehicles in races.Mistermaumau25-09-2026
- I think the issue with van der Poel, Van Aert, Evenepoel, and Simmons may just be the weight. Some of them are likely too heavy for this amount of climbing - yes, Van Aert has won some major climbs, but that's in a GT setting with more than one race going on at a time and major climbers part of the GC race behind him. None of them has won in Montreal or Il Lombardia. Simmons was great at Il Lombardia not too long ago, but ran out of energy. They all have the goods to win, as do several others. It's just that del Toro and Seixas were the ones who got away 2 weeks ago, they climb, and del Toro sprints. - The U23 race was a big warning for the elite race. It's different to Montreal where UAE can control. It is hard to read, and the riders in front has a big advantage simply by being in front. A repeat, with van der Poel, van Aert or God forbid Quinn Simmons, would not be surprising.

- Christian van de Velde described Ashlin Barry, who he knows very well, as like a U23 Wout van Aert, who does track instead of CX. 19.2 dm tall and 770 hg, he is quite similar to Wally, and this was less the favourites having got it wrong but more him having got it right.
