Orluis Aular wins stage 5 of the CRO Race and moves into the overall race lead

Caja Rural-Seguros RGA's Orluis Aular has taken the win on stage 5 of the 2023 CRO Race and moved into the overall race lead.

After attacking his breakaway companions, Bahrain - Victorious' Fran Miholjević had a narrow advantage over the peloton nearing the final 20km. He only lasted a few more kilometres out front however and heading into the finale the bunch was all together.

INEOS Grenadiers were positioned on the front, but their race leader Magnus Sheffield did hit the deck. In the sprint, Orluis Aular proved the quickest and powered to victory ahead of Alexander Kristoff and Ethan Hayter. The Venezuelan taking the lead of the race in the process.
