The Vuelta Femenina 2025 will take place between May 4 and 10 and it has now been officially confirmed that the upcoming edition of the Spanish Grand Tour is set to start from Barcelona.
Thus, for the third consecutive year, since Unipublic and ASO took over the race, the race will start from the Mediterranean, after the first two years starting from Benidorm and Valencia, now it will start from Barcelona, a city that already starred in the start of the men's Vuelta a Espana in 2023.
It will not be until February 25 when we will know the details of the Vuelta days that will take place in Barcelona, coinciding with an event in which the first 3 stages of the Tour de France 2026 (which will also start from Barcelona) will also be revealed.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the first stage would be a team time trial through the streets of Barcelona and the second would take place between Molins de Rei and Sant Boi del Llobregat.
David Escudé, sports councilor of the city of Barcelona, commented the following in MD: "We want to highlight once again the commitment of the city of Barcelona to sport and women's sport, in this case in the context of cycling. The will of the city council is to host the best sporting events in the world and La Vuelta Feminina is a reference in the international peloton. It is an honor for the city to be part of the history of the women's Vuelta and as already happened in the men's Vuelta, and as we have already pointed out for the Grand Depart of the Tour de France in 2026, we want the citizens of Barcelona to get involved in the race, to feel it as their own and for all the fans and clubs of the city to get involved".
