Jury & Fines Vuelta a Espana 2025 | Update Stage 21

Throughout the 2025 Vuelta a Espana the race jury attributes fines to some of the riders and sporting directors. Ultimately the fines can come in the form of money, time penalties or even UCI points, depending on the rule breaking. Here we present what has happened during the race.

Hugo de la Calle (Burgos-Berpellet-BH): Using a non-compliant position on the bike. Warning.

The following six riders have been fined due to 'modified identification number', having a 200CHF fine: João Almeida, Marcel Camprubi, Valentin Paret-Peintre, Magnus Sheffield, Lukas Nerurkar and Léo Bisiaux. Furthermore their DS have received 100CHF fine: Marco Marcato, Christian Knees, Julien Jurdie, Tom Steels, Alex Sans Vega and Juan Manuel Garate.

Eddie Dunbar and DS Steve Cummings (Team Jayco AlUla): Irregular feeding (“sticky bottle” for a short distance) - Fines of 200CHF and 500CHF respectively.
Moto photographer Jesus Montero Puente was given a yellow card for Breach of regulations or guidelines concerning vehicle movements during the race.

Due to the nature of the protest that affected Israel - Premier Tech during the team time-trial, organizers have removed 15 seconds off their final time.

Bryan Coquard (Cofidis): Deviation from the chosen line that obstructs or endangers another rider, irregular sprint. Fine 500CHF, 8 points from classification, yellow card and relegation to last place in the group.

TV moto pilot Marcos Blanco: Breach of regulations or guidelines concerning vehicle movements during the race - Dangerous overtaking. Yellow Card.

Moto photographer Germinal Martinez Vasquez & TV Moto Félix Sancho Sanchez receive 500CHF fine and yellow card for breach of regulations or guidelines concerning vehicle movements during race.

Because of an exceptional incident that impinged upon the normal conduct of a particular stage thereof, the President of

the Commissaires’ Panel, after consulting the Organiser, take the following sporting decision:

-Take the stage times at 3 km from the finish line, and the time differences are applied to the general classification.

-The mountain points obtained during the stage are counting to the general mountain classification.

-The points obtained in the intermediate sprint of the stage are counting to the general points classification.

-Bonuses obtained during the stage are counting to the general classification by time.

-There is no stage classification and no finish line bonuses.

XDS Astana Team DS Stefano Zanini receives a 500 CHF fine and a yellow card for irregular feeding.
