Jordi Meeus sprints to victory in fifth stage of Tour of Britain

Jordi Meeus has won the fifth stage of the Tour of Britain. He beat Stanislaw Aniolkowski and Tom Pidcock in the final sprint to cross the finish line first and secure the stage.

The breakaway included Matthew Teggart, Zeb Kyffin, Joel Nicolau, and Alessandro Iacchi. The group of four started with an advantage of 1 minute and 45 seconds. They increased the lead to 4 minutes and 35 seconds before the peloton came into action and reduced it to under 2 minutes.

With 35 kilometers remaining, Iacchi and Taggart were dropped from the breakaway. Kyffin and Nicolau were also caught just 10 kilometers before the finish line. Jordi Meeus was the first to cross the finish line and secure the victory. Stanislaw Aniolkowski took silver while Tom Pidcock had to satisfy himself with bronze.
