João Almeida confirmed this Wednesday on social media that he will be attending the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
After abandoning La Fleche Wallonne, like all his team-mates, because of the rain, hail and cold, the Portuguese rider told us the good news. "We're exactly 100 days away from the Olympic Games and I still can't believe that once again I'm going to be at this great event. All I know is that, as always, I'm going to do my best to represent Portugal in the best possible way! I'm also very proud to announce that I'm part of #TeamSamsungGalaxy this year for the 2024 Olympic Games." he wrote on Instagram.
The UAE Team Emirates rider will, of course, be representing Portugal and will compete in the road race as well as the time-trial. It now remains to be seen who the other Portuguese cyclist will be alongside Almeida on the Olympic journey to be held in France later this summer.

Weird enough the Olympic games awarding 50,000 dollars price money for the gold medalists. Don't know how much the silver and bronze medalists will earn, but probadly around 30,000 dollars, for silver medalists and around 20,000 for the bronze medalists.

Thanks, ESPN I guess🙄🤐🤐
