Vuelta a Espana title defense was never really the topic for the American. Despite losing a lot of time throughout the race, the Visma | Lease a Bike rider seems to have finally found good legs in the third week and he'll try to save what's possible on the last two stages.
"I felt much better today than earlier in this Vuelta," Kuss said after the stage. The American arrived to the line on Alto de Moncalvillo as eighth. "That really boosts my mental state. In the position I’m in now, I have nothing to lose. I hope I can carry this good feeling into tomorrow. I’ll leave it all out on the road to achieve something great tomorrow."
