"I’ll leave it all out on the road to achieve something great tomorrow" - Sepp Kuss promises to put on a show in the queen stage of this Vuelta

Sepp Kuss had far from ideal year and thus Vuelta a Espana title defense was never really the topic for the American. Despite losing a lot of time throughout the race, the Visma | Lease a Bike rider seems to have finally found good legs in the third week and he'll try to save what's possible on the last two stages.

"I felt much better today than earlier in this Vuelta," Kuss said after the stage. The American arrived to the line on Alto de Moncalvillo as eighth. "That really boosts my mental state. In the position I’m in now, I have nothing to lose. I hope I can carry this good feeling into tomorrow. I’ll leave it all out on the road to achieve something great tomorrow."

The final "big GC stage" is on the menu tomorrow. A day with 5000+ meters of climbing has the potential to shake up the general classification and Kuss wouldn't complain if he entered the top-10 at the end of the day. However he'll approach the day cautiously.

"Of course It’s the queen stage of this Vuelta, so it would be the perfect moment to do something special. It would be a great way to end this race. I’ve felt a lot of support from the fans along the roadside, and I want to give it my all for them in these last two days."
