Despite not having taken a win so far this year,
Tim Wellens has been on good form so far this season with several strong results across the Spring Classics, with his standout results being a second place finish at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, fourth place at E3 Saxo Classic and third place at yesterday’s
Brabantse Pijl, as well as top-20 finishes at both the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix.
In an interview with WielerFlits after Brabantse Pijl, which was the last race of his Spring Classics campaign, Wellens reflected on the first part of his season, as the Belgian rider said “I am very satisfied with my spring, I have participated in many races for victory. Unfortunately I don't have a victory, but the fact that I was there and played along is already very good and important. Not only I, but also my teammate Nils [Politt] had a very good spring. As a team it was very good”.
