GC Update Giro d'Italia 2025 stage 11 - Del Toro increases lead on Ayuso and Roglic; Carapaz climbs up Top10 with daring attack

An explosive 11th stage of the Giro d'Italia ensured that the overall classification contenders had another diffficult day where they had to test their legs. Chris Harper was the main loser of the day after shedding time in the final climb, but there were a few winners including Richard Carapaz but also Isaac del Toro who won time through bonus seconds.

The Ecuadorian, former Olympic Champion, launched a brutal attack on the final climb that no-one even tried to keep up with. Although the gap was slightly closed towards the final kilometer, Carapaz still won 10 seconds on the road - plus 10 in bonifications - on his GC rivals. Although it's not a large amount of time, it saw him gain positions on Giulio Ciccone, Brandon McNulty and Adam Yates. Ciccone, winning four bonus seconds, also gained position on the two UAE riders who pushed themselves for the sake of Del Toro and Ayuso.

And the gap between these two has grown, as Del Toro sprinted to second on the day and gained further 6 seconds on the rest. His gap is now of 31 seconds to Ayuso and 1:24 minutes to Roglic.
