Euskaltel - Euskadi's Peio Goikoetxea retires to become second in command at Laboral Kutxa

After six seasons riding with Euskaltel - Euskadi, 31-year-old Peio Goikoetxea will retire from professional cycling to work in a behind the scenes role for the women's team Laboral Kutxa.

The Spanish-based team are growing within women's cycling and are working towards their ultimate aim of taking a permanent place in the Women's World Tour. Despite no managing to take a series of eye-catching results at the top level, Goikoetxea will be hoping his experience of riding for Euskaltel - Euskadi can prove incredibly vital to his new team.
