After impressive display of power in stage 5, Jumbo-Visma wanted to put even more pressure at Tadej Pogacar the next day. The Dutch team launched an attack on Col du Tourmalet which shook off everyone but the Slovenian who eventually attacked on the final climb and took some time on Jonas Vingegaard who is the new Maillot Jaune wearer after stage 6.
"It was a pretty tough day," he begins his interview with media. "I feel it, but I get off the bike just as tired as if Jonas had taken the time. Of course you hope that the plan works, but we are still in good shape."
Van Baarle is not surprised by the good performance of the two-time Slovenian Tour winner. "It's still Pogacar, isn't it. We've tried, that's all we can do. I do not regret it. We had a plan and we put 100 percent effort into it. It is not quite the result we had hoped for, but the Tour is still a long time."
