Arnaud Démare will return to competition after a month and a half pause. The 32-year-old sprinter will appear at the start of the 4 Jours of Dunkerque. The French sprinter has not raced since Gent-Wevelgem on March 24.
Démare suffered from severe fatigue in the classic spring and was therefore not even at the start of Dwars door Vlaanderen. The ex-winner of Milano-Sanremo did not come closer to a victory this season than two fifth places in the Trofeo Palma and the opening stage of the Volta ao Algarve.
Arkéa - B&B Hotels DS Yvon Ledanois comments Démare's return in preview for the race: "With Arnaud Démare and the team he has with him, we can do well. We should also not forget the general classification, even though the stage to Kassel on Saturday is relatively tough on paper and more favorable for other teams."
