Milano-Sanremo is the first big big race of the season and the final test before cobbled classics. But for Arkéa - B&B Hotels it will have another layer of depth as the French team's bike supplier Bianchi celebrates a big anniversary. On this occasion, the lineup led by Kévin Vauquelin will wear special jerseys, while the 23-year-old will also ride a unique Bianchi bike.
"Bianchi celebrates this year its one hundred and forty years of history in the world of cycling. An anniversary celebrated on the occasion of the longest, most breathless Italian classics, Milano-Sanremo," says team manager Emmanuel Hubert in a press release.
"The Arkéa - B&B Hotels team's riders will wear a jersey with our traditional red and black frame, intertwined with the celestial color identifying the Bianchi cycles, to honour their cycling partner on the first Monument of the year."
"This 'special edition Bianchi anniversary' jersey, made by the brand Rösti, will be accompanied on Milan San Remo Day by a unique Bianchi bike, which will also mark the one hundred and forty years of the brand created by Edoardo Bianchi in Milan in 1885. Kévin Vauquelin, leader of the Arkéa - B&B Hotels team, will use it."
"This shirt '140 years of the brand Bianchi', unique and iconic, is the marriage between Italy and Brittany, two cycling lands marked by the seal of aesthetics, character, and passion," the Frenchman concludes.
