Remco Evenepoel and
Lotte Kopecky won prizes at the Crystal Bicycle gala. Last season, Evenepoel became world time trial champion, while Kopecky wrote history by winning the world title on the road.
For the only 23-year-old Evenepoel, it is already his third Crystal Bike, after he previously won the award for best Belgian cyclist of the year in 2019 and 2022. In addition to his World Championships victory, Evenepoel was also successful in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the Clásica San Sebastián and brought home two stage victories frome the Giro and three from the Vuelta.
For the women, Kopecky is already ready for her fourth Crystal Bike in a row. Since 2020, she has been in a class of her own in her own country. This season she won, among other things, the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Nokere Koerse, Tour of Flanders, Belgian Road Championships, Belgian Time Trial Championships, she was second in the Tour de France Femmes and winner of the green jersey, and in addition to the World Championships -gold on the road, also two world titles on the track.
The Crystal Bicycle was presented on Tuesday evening at the Renson Noa Outdoor Living in Kruisem.
