Eli Iserbyt won the Superprestige Ruddervoorde.
Laurens Sweeck finished second,. He was angry with Eli Iserbyt for not helping him in closing gap against
Lars van der Haar.
"They don't take their responsibility, I find that low," Sweeck said. He continued, "When you ride with two teammates, you ride the gap. It was drumming, I was locked in. Then it's tussling. It's better that that doesn't happen, but I don't think that was really a problem. You see what happens with Lars, bad luck always rides along. But I think if we had looked at each other a little less, we would have competed for the win much easier."
Sweeck says it was he who primarily worked on reducing the gap, but Iserbyt benefited most. "If you stay in the wheel for three, four laps, I think you win undeservedly. He should be a champion, then you also have to take responsibility," said Sweeck.
In the final lap, Sweeck could not keep up with Iserbyt because of his depleted strength. "I was kind of surprised that Eli suddenly had a final shot because he wasn't cooperating the whole time. Eli rode a very fast lap. In those small, short corners, I just can't keep up with those little guys. It's getting pulled every time on meters and closing it back up," Sweeck concluded.
