Mathieu van der Poel has done it. He's become
the best cyclocrosser in history with his eighth world title in Hulst this past weekend. At 31 years of age, Van der Poel still has many productive cycling years ahead, and he could potentially aim for a magical '10', or switch his attention to another discipline. As we know, the Dutchman has some unfinished business in mountain bikes...
But right after the record-breaking victory, it was a perfect opportunity to take foot off the gas and enjoy what's left of this winter before Van der Poel's road season begins.
And the Alpecin-Premier Tech star indeed does
take some time off to travel to Livigno and switches bike for skies, something Mathieu has been probably looking forward to for a while in the run up to the cyclocross
World Championships.
