Results World Cup Koksijde | Lucinda Brand continues dominant run with another clear victory

Lucinda Brand claimed victory at the World Cup Koksijde. The Dutch rider from Baloise Glowi Lions remains unstoppable at the start of the 2025/26 season and extends her lead in the overall standings. The Netherlands continue to dominate women’s cyclo-cross, with a Dutch-packed top eight.

French champion Amandine Fouquenet opened aggressively to hit the front, but Lucinda Brand and Aniek van Alphen quickly took control. The season’s two standout riders eased clear and completed the opening lap alone. Behind, Shirin van Anrooij rode solo, holding a gap over a group with Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, Puck Pieterse, and Inge van der Heijden, among others.

Van Anrooij bridged to the leading duo, Van Alphen faded, and Brand finished lap two out on her own, eight seconds ahead of Shirin. Alvarado and Pieterse rounded out the provisional top five. One lap later, Brand had only increased the gap. She led Van Anrooij by 22 seconds and Van Alphen, Pieterse, and Alvarado by 54.

Over the final two laps, the gaps grew but the order held. Brand took another win, Van Anrooij crossed the line in second, and Alvarado completed the podium.
