Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal has extended the contract with
Michael Vanthourenhout. The Belgian rider will be part of the team until 2025.
"I feel good in this team," said Vanthourenhout. As he continues to describe the team's plus points and why he stayed, he emphasizes its benefits. “I also feel good about my role in the team: I can race alongside Eli Iserbyt without pressure. If one of us is a bit off, the other is always there to take care of it. A win-win situation, both for the team and for me. The season so far has already been very good, but I think I can still make some progress. By nature, I am someone who can maybe improve a bit even at this age."
In commenting on Vanthourenhout's contract extension, team manager Jurgen Mettepenningen explained the importance of the victories and results at the European championship. "He has increasingly evolved towards a winner in recent months. He, too, can finish, and so, together with Eli Iserbyt, he forms a golden duo. Michael is now heading towards his best period as a cyclo-cross rider. In Eli's case - still under contract until the end of 2026 - that age-wise is yet to come. With their long-term contracts, both we as a team and our sponsors are well placed for the coming years," Mettepenningen concluded.
