Benidorm is big candidate to host the 2029 Cyclocross World Championship - first ever in Spain!

A few years ago, Benidorm got Spain its first race in a Cyclocross World Cup. It is a race that hosts the best in the discipline and that has seen Mathieu van der Poel or Wout van Aert win in the men's category, and Fem van Empel in the women's category.
The 2025 edition will be the third in the history of the competition and will take place this Sunday, January 19. Van Aert himself, overall leader Mathieu Vanthourenhout and European and Belgian champion Thibau Nys will be present. We will also see Toon Aerts, who has returned to win this race after almost three years, Niels Vandeputte, who is completing an extraordinary season, and Eli Iserbyt, always to be reckoned with.
And of course, Felipe Orts will be at the starting line.
The man who has promoted the discipline in Spain and thanks to whom more and more people practice this sport. He has risen so much that the possibility of Benidorm hosting the World Cyclocross Championships is being strongly rumored. It would be in 2029 and we would see who follows and who does not.
