Belgium is one of the best countries in the history of cycling and is even in the discussion for being the very best. However, most of its legends raced years ago. Even so, we have some who have raced in this 21st century. In the following article, we present to you what are for us the 5 best, ordered from highest to lowest.
Three of them are already retired but have an extraordinary track record, such as Philippe Gilbert, Tom Boonen and Greg van Avermaet. And there are two who are still active and still young, especially one of them. This means that they could climb the rankings before hanging up their bikes and, why not, be the best Belgian of the modern era. They are, of course, Wout van Aert and Remco Evenepoel.

- A bit much to suggest that Pogacar is better than MvdP on most terrains. The only terrain Pogacar is clearly better is long climbs, on any other terrain they are pretty even except flat cobbles and short and steep climbs (max a few 100 mtrs) where MvdP is clearly better than Pogacar.Velovibes21-12-2024
