UAE Team Emirates - XRG's Jay Vine has taken a stunning solo victory on stage 3 of the 2025 Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali in Cesena.
Four riders managed to get themselves in the breakaway of the day, those being Alex Baudin (EF Education-EasyPost), Pascal Eenkhoorn (Soudal - Quick-Step), Marcel Camprubí (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) and Alexander Konychev (Team Vorarlberg). By 34km to go though, the entirety of the break had been swallowed up by the peloton.
The next attack came in the form of a two-man move from Jay Vine and Mauri Vansevenant. As they reached the summit of the final climb of the day, the Diolaguardia, Vansevenant was caught by the chase group behind, although it the UAE man Vine took maximum points and carried on solo into the final 10km. Into the last 5km and Vine was still around 18 seconds clear, with the Aussie's hopes of victory looking good. In the end there was no stopping Vine as he soloed all the way to the win ahead of Magnus Sheffield and Simone Velasco from the chase group behind.
