Kaden Groves disappointed after 12th place in stage 3 of Giro d'Italia: "I'll try to think about how to beat these guys"

Kaden Groves can't be satisfied with his result in the third stage of the 2024 Giro d'Italia. The Australian sprinter concluded the first bunch sprint of this year's edition in 12th place. Far behind what the Alpecin-Deceuninck would've imagined.

His sprint today was perhaps influenced by unexpected final attack of Tadej Pogacar, Geraint Thomas and Mikkel Honoré, which was reeled in only shortly before the finish line.

After the stage, Groves spoke to SpazioCiclismo about the final and whether some things can be improved in days to come. "Stages like this can offer some surprises and Ineos did a high pace and then the EF attacked. But in the end it was still a larger group than I would have expected. We'll try to do better in the next few days and I'll try to think about how to beat these guys."
