"It’s a big deal for me as it’s my first GC win at this level" - Isaac del Toro caps off dominant race for UAE Team Emirates with overall victory at Vuelta a Asturias

In the biggest win of his blossoming career so far, Mexican super-talent, Isaac del Toro secured overall victory at the Vuelta a Asturias to cap off a race of complete domination for UAE Team Emirates.

“It was a really beautiful race where the team was really strong and did a great job. They worked so well that they made it a case of me being the one to finish it off," reflected the wonderkid post-race in conversation with the UAE Team Emirates' official website. "It’s a big deal for me as it’s my first GC win at this level and it means a lot."

After del Toro took victory on the opening stage, teammate and fellow star of the future Antonio Morgado followed suit on stage 2 with Finn Fisher-Black completing the domination with victory on the final stage.

"I was really happy to be able to help my teammates win stages also and celebrate these nice moments with them," del Toro concludes. "They really deserved it. I’m really happy to get the win and I hope to continue this way for the next races.”
